Think Matcha’s Traditional Matcha Tea Recipe

To enjoy a perfectly flavored traditional cup of matcha it is best to use premium grade
matcha tea.

A cup of matcha tea is made using either a small cup or bowl. A serving size is similar to an
espresso shot.

Ingredients:

1 gram (1/2 tsp.) of matcha powder or 1 tsp. for a stronger cup
70 ml (about 2.4 ounce) or 7 tbsp. of near-boiled water
Your water should not get to the point of a full boil, as just before boiling point is perfect! If
you happen to like stronger flavored tea, use a little less water or add an additional 1/2 tsp
matcha tea.

Preparation:

We recommend sifting the dry matcha powder to dissolve it more smoothly.
Put the desired
amount of powder for one cup into the sifter, and press it through the sifter with a spoon into
your cup or bowl.
Pour in the hot water.
Froth using handheld electric frother or bamboo matcha whisk to create a delicate foam.
Take the matcha whisk and apply a gentle zigzagging motion (in a “W” shaped pattern), to
create a frothy foam surface.
Enjoy!
